Great Backyard Horseshoe SetJun 16, 2003
By Bullfred If you're looking for a decent set of horseshoes for the backyard without dropping a lot of clams, this is the set for you. Notice I said decent - I previously owned the entry level [$$] department store set and recently upgraded. These shoes really grab onto the stake like a sailor hugging his girlfriend after a 6 month Med cruise and they retain a lot of ringers that would have otherwise flown off. If you play horseshoes on a regular basis or if you just want a professional set for the outback, go with these, they're worth the few extra dollars. Another plus is that if you want to enter any tournaments, these shoes are approved by the National Horseshoe Pitching Assoc.

Good QualityOct 27, 2009
By Bob Fairbairn This is a well-made set of horseshoes for the price. It's probably as good as you can do without spending quite a bit more money for a "professional" level set. Also, they are made by a family-owned business in the USA - somewhat of a rarity these days.

popular lawn game.Sep 13, 2009

"CO man"
I bought set to use for family reunion and it was used extensively. My only reservation for not rating it a 5 is due to the scuffing of the covering paint to make some abrasiveness to throwing the shoes. This happened rather quickly.

Great horseshoe set for the money!Jul 13, 2009
By MamaB Bought this set for a party we had. Quality was better than expected, and it was played constantly be people all day and all evening. Since the party two couples have asked to borrow it. Very pleased.

Nice ShoesMay 08, 2011
By The 1 Otaku These are great steel shoes that are slightly bigger than the standard fare you find at Wally World. More professional in my opinion. I play at home in regulation size wood frame pits with 3 foot, 3/4 inch cold rolled steel stakes. I do not use the 2 footer stakes that all these type of sets come with. The only problem with these shoes is the paint chips off. This didn't happen after playing with them for a couple of weeks, this happened after the first throw. After playing a couple of weeks with the shoes now, they are really chipped up. Of course this is better than buying the smaller shoes that are prone to breaking in half from the other "sets". I guess after they get chipped up enough I will have to repaint them. Small price to pay for some nice shoes that will last even if the paint doesn't.
