 Good, but needs a caseAug 10, 2009
Great horseshoe set. Pretty cheap, though I can't see the difference between this set and others by the same company- so many similar names. Wish it came in a carrying case- there should automatically be a case with the set, though I know it's not advertised as such. It's tough lugging around a cardboard box. Very sturdy though.

 Used daily for 2 weeks - Nice valueFeb 13, 2009
We purchased the St Pierre horseshoes for our 2 week summer vacation at the lake last year. We set up the pegs and played for hours every day. It's a great set, well built. We're just back yard throwers, not league members. The shoes are bright, colorful, fairly easy on the hands and easy to find in the sand. The stakes are heavy steel. I pounded them with a hammer to set in the ground and they didn't flare much at all. For heavy soil I'd recommend some kind of sleeve to prevent the flaring.
I'd buy them again, I feel they are a good value for the dollars.

It's a joy to have this horse shoe tossing set up in the back yard. I know the distance is supposed to be 40 feet between the two stakes but that's too far for me and my yard is a small one. In any event, it's a great way to spend time with friends and/or family. In addition, I love that the equipment is made of metal. Solid metal. Not one iota of plastic. So, a touch of weight training is part of the game too.
Get a set. Get fit. Have fun!

These horseshoes are fine for a family looking to have some backyard fun. They are sturdy enough for play and the paint holds up better than I had anticipated. All in all they are perfect for what I am looking for, nothing fancy just functional. I wish the posts would be longer to get them deeper into the ground but I suppose they are a standard size.

Great Exercise!Jan 14, 2008
I have four teenagers and really wanted something to entertain them as well as give them some exercise....not a video game(smile). We love this set of horse shoes. We play teams and it gives bonding time, plus the exercise doesn't hurt anyone.
