5Great shirt! Great price!Sep 14, 2009
By SoDi
I have been to every department store in my town trying to find a plain polo shirt in size XL that was well made and fit comfortably. Didn't find anything and got very, very frustrated that all the "women" polos are way overpriced and too freakin' tight through the shoulders and midsection, and the sleeves are so tiny they scrape my underarms and don't come down past my naval, and the material is so super thin (i.e. cheap made) they cling to every nook and cranny and yet the prices start at $25 or $30!!! Every women's XL I have tried on is more like for an extra large smurf maybe! The men's shirts are too freakin' long and the sleeves come down past my elbows so that wasn't a solution either. I took a chance on one of these Dickies women's polo. There were no reviews when I ordered mine, but the price was right with Prime shipping, so I ordered a black one, just to try it and I am soooooooooooooooooo glad I did. It is the best polo I have found in many, many years. In fact, I stopped wearing polos because all the brands I tried on sucked, EXCEPT this one apparently!!!

The Dickies brand fits so great and feels so great and soft, and at such a great price. I just ordered another one in a different color. It's roomy without being too long (or too short) or sloppy, and there is plenty of shoulder room without the sleeves being too long (or too short) either. Like Goldilocks, it's not too big and not too small, but it's just right. There is a small Dickies tag sewn on the outside, but it's way down on the bottom, shirt hem, lefthand side, so it's not really noticeable. I also like that it's got just a little bit of spandex so that by the end of the day my shirt isn't all saggy looking. It's also very soft, unlike those scratchy cheap ones. It's an all around great shirt at a fantastic price!!! Thank you, Dickies for my new favorite shirt!!!

1Nice style, but....Quality of cotton is BadOct 29, 2009

I purchased several of these in various colors. I wish I had purchased only one, in white. These look attractive brand new. They are soft and roomy without being sloppy. I'm 5"5, the length falls to med hip on me. They keep their shape and they are colorfast, but they will also shrink in the, recommended, low temp dryer and they pill. The shrinkage and pilling is excessive enough for me not to recommend. The quality of the cotton is just not good. The cotton has a soft feel, but the look....is that coarse and nubby textured cotton. It's cheap quality, short fiber cotton. This shirt may feel like that "scruffy pair of comfortable shoes you love", and that's exactly what this looks like. If you are required by work or school to wear polo's, but want to look fresh and polished, I can only recommend giving these shirts a pass.

The stain release isn't very good. The collars are quite thick. I've had mine for a couple of months, and they look more ratty with each washing. Not acceptable for my work. The only exception is the white. The white is a somewhat finer textured cotton that resists pilling and it has a less bulky collar.

I wouldn't have purchased, if I had realized the poor quality cotton. I'm a Clinical Massage Therapist and wear polo's for work, but I didn't like the look of these after a few washing, so I cut off the overly thick collars and only use them, to sleep in, when I'm cold. This was a total waste of money for me.

I ended up purchasing some Land's End polos. They are more pricy if purchased at regular price, but you can get good deals in their "overstocks". Sizes and colors may be limited, but I purchased some polos for 7 bucks from Lands End Overstocks. They are not imperfects. These are first quality.

5Great garmentsJan 30, 2010

These were ordered for my girlfriend to wear to her job. She had them embroidered with her businesses logo and they came out awesome! Great material and they are wash and wear. What more can you ask for?
